This morning while surfing overs some old gaming sites I found a very dangerous one. . After opening the site up when I clicked the news tab at the top than my browser locked up. a pop-up appeared in the middle of the page stating" your hard drive will be deleted in five minutes unless you call the number that we have provided for further information" . There was also an audio file playing this message. . I immediately had my power button turn off my computer restarted it, when in deleted all of my history , cookies, temporary files, everything. was then able to open my browser without a pop-up coming back. Pop-ups were turned off by the way. , the question is who to report the site to I do not want to put the name here also in my safe. . I ran the full system of AVAST, Malwarebytes and even Windows defender and they came up with nothing. . Do I need to blank my hard drive and reload or should I be safe.
There may be others with more information, however if you are still worried you could follow this link and provide information logs in the Virus and Worms Section for peace of mind:

This sounds more hoax than malware.
I don’t know why you don’t want to name the site, that is after all how we can investigate the site.
Just make sure that the url isn’t active change http to hXXp to break the link and avoid accidental exposure.
First thing that you can think of when someone comes to the forms for advice is that they are lying is not only unprofessional. It is rude. if this is the kind of community that is around a vast technical forums, I will be buying a different antivirus software. A little critical thinking goes a long way when someone asked you to help with the problem.
But since I will be back to this forms of give you the site. I would not click on. Hxxp.www.mmosite.com
I think you are misunderstanding what DavidR has said, Hoax was meant as “there is a hoax” scam on the website in question.
It has been a long time since I heard about that practical joke on a website.
Hoax / Scarware website example here, see video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HyfNn7JBZu0
used to see these very frequently a year or two ago
anyway i see nothing going there

No one said you are lying, these types of hoax were common place years ago.
This was intended as reassurance not to accuse you of lying.
So I shan’t waste any more of your valuable time.
