Has Anyone Had Malware AMS Caught?

I get all of my apps either through Google Play 98% of the time or Amazon the remaining 2% of the time. Since they both supposedly scan the apps they have, has anyone here caught malware from apps offered by Google Play and Amazon?

Dealing with apps from other sources would make AMS vital.

Well, there were quite some times that Google Play missed infected files.
If you visit the avast! blog you’ll find some of them.
Even Apple Store missed one already.
