Has google changed something with their search?

So normally, I have noscript block google and now I can’t seem to search in google without allowing it?

Has something changed?

Or is it something to do with Firefox 4 beta 1

I would question the use of the iframe tag in a search string/result, e.g. why that happened and where the search was launched from. Perhaps there is some sort of block by google on remote searches.

I have NoScript (firefox 3.6.6) but don’t block google.com or .co.uk, I do however, block google’s. analytics, adservices, syndication domains, etc. etc.

Oddly, I can’t seem to get it to do that anymore ???

Weird though…

I can still use the search here if blocking Google.com or .fr (or .co.uk) with NS in FF4.0b1…otherwise I don’t block that, as I use Google services. Yeah I don’t know how you got that iframe…

Certainly weird, if you can’t replicate it and get this iframe tag issue.

I too Have just opened Firefox 3.6.6 and my homepage has changed to iGoogle from Google.co th. although the URL still says this http://www.google.co.th/

I’ve just checked IE8 and I still have the normal Google not iGoogle with the same URL http://www.google.co.th/. Looks to be a Firefox problem. Only get the normal Google frame when I use Google .co.uk. No problem will make this my new homepage.

Hi elfpattaya,

You can read about third party iFrames here: http://www.codingforums.com/showthread.php?p=971554
There is not much you can do with the browser there, follow the solution offered,

It is not a third party frame. It is my personal iGoogle frame which I only use as a bookmark. It has decided it will be my homepage, until I changed it.

I have just sussed it if you go to iGoogle and change to Classic Home I get my old home page back for some reason on Firefox the URL has changed.

Sorry for all these posts Google has offered a toggle between iGoogle and Classic Home (the normal Google page ) . I’ve never noticed this before, and for some reason they decided to start me on iGoogle, just to confuse me.

Hi elfpattaya

yes it does that, say, if you choose to open a google search with igoogle as your page
then that will switch to default next time you open the browser, regardless of which browser it is
this what I get http://www.google.co.nz/ig?hl=en

I always log into igoogle and then log out when I’ve finished my work there - so I’m back in classic
otherwise I leave igoogle alone

it’s back again… ???

Oddly google is allowed in NS…
