I think their time could be better spent in trying to get better security related add-ons ported for it, WOT, really isn’t great but guidance at best.
Unfortunately it seems the only people driving this are the add-on makers themselves rather than the browser developers.

Hi Bob.There is a discussion going on at WOT forum about one of your sites being rated red.Someone that calls himself Silver Pirate appears to have said that the rating is wrong.But as usual g7w is saying the rating is correct along with shazza.I left WOT about a year ago and deleted my account so cannot take part.But if the discussion is about your site I thought I would let you know if out of courtesy if nothing else as I myself have used your shared files a few times.The discussions name is,I think this rating is wrong.All the best,Cod Head.

That is one of the very weak sides of WOT, non-reliable user input. They should always check and back check, because one should always question user input, users could have thousands of reasons to come up with bogus results - jealousy, envy, being loco, being awkwardly unintelligent, etc. etc. Distrust anyone and anything that lands there, proof it for yourself first and then give the results, and in that case you have grown to be a wise human being, and this is more true then ever in this time and age, because people have grown to mix up facts and fiction every day all of the day and they are being fed this mixture daily…

I think the main problem with WOT now is the Mass Rating Tool and top members not visiting sites but getting their information from sources that are not allways right.If a few members visit the same site which often happens then a good site can soon turn red if its a false positive.It also seems very hard to get the rating reversed.Plus these sources often share there information or there members get information from say Norton safe web and post it on WOT and Mcafee.Then it may seem a lot of security sites have rated a site bad adding strength to the rating were as in fact its just shared information.
As I have said I have downloaded from Bob often without any problem.And its wrong a decent blokes site is given a bad rating.All he is doing is helping people for no reward for himself.
BTW I use LinkExtend myself now has I get ratings from a lot of sites and not just one.
WOT must have some sort of a automatic website rating system otherwise I think WOT’s initial fame and glory will be short lived
I have also left WOT long time back for the good.

We’ll see what happens. I’ve already received a response and a request for some further information
through that post on their forum.
Only time will tell. (Hope I’m around long enough to see it happen.)
