I have avast free version and have for quite a while. Been having major problem with connections and windows says it’s firewall. I finally disabled the windows firewall but the connection still says fire walled. Any suggestions? I have windows XP pro, and use ATT dsl, and magic jack.

What does this have to do with Avast? Avast Free has no firewall.

Well, one thing you can try - does it change anything if you stop avast! real-time shields?
Very true. There are a lot of people claiming they cannot connect after install Avast Free even. Maybe some sort of conflict.
Conflict is always with something else…
Which were the previous antivirus of firewall (before avast)?
