Having trouble with Internet Explorer after reinstalling avast via adnm

Hi guys,

Recently reinstalled avast client on 3 computers that were not communicating well with the adnm. Since then there have been some issues with Internet Explorer not displaying some web pages properly. Also I noticed when I try to check the version of IE (In internet explorer going to ‘help’ then ‘about internet explorer’) that there is no Version number, cipher strength, or product id. These labels are there but there is no data to the right of them.

The other computers that we have in our network with avast client installed do not have this problem.

I was wondering if anyone else has come across this problem? I will be trying to fix this by reinstalling Internet Explorer, also may look at reinstalling avast client but that appears to be ok now.

Fixed by running the following from a command/run prompt:

regsvr32 wshom.ocx
regsvr32 jscript.dll
regsvr32 urlmon.dll

I think the avast uninstall utility I used undid some of these. This was a standalone uninstall utility (aswclear) and not the one from the adnm.

It would be interesting to hear if anyone else had any trouble after running aswclear.exe to remove avast products/software.
