HD Player Dune does not see a shared folder on my notebook

My HD Player Dune does not see a shared folder on my notebook after installation of Avast! Internet Security 6.0.1289.

I have got a local home Wi-Fi net (with help of a Wi-Fi access point modem) and my notebook sees Dune’s folders with no problem, but I can not watch films saved in the shared folder on my notebook from my Dune HD player (player’s IP address is 192.168.1.3). I put the net 192.168.1.1 - 192.168.255.255 as a friendly one but without success.

If I switch off Avast! I can see this folder - Dune sees my notebook. Dune uses SMB (Server Message Block) to contact with the notebook. I guess the matter is in Avast!'s settings.

Could you help me, please?

Maybe (not sure at all):

Avast main GUI → settings → troubleshooting → redirect settings → web → ignore addresses. Add the relevant IP.

I am also not sure at all if this could open a hole in your security.

You should also check your firewall rules, just in case. Delete the relevant rules, and then re-create them anew (this usually solves some problems after some specific updates).

Please report back.

There is also a setting in AIS, something like “Internet Connection Sharing” (I forget exactly), that can also cure odd LAN problems like this.

Unfortunately, it did not work. :frowning:

Hope it helps.

Please try this

Avast main GUI → firewall → expert settings-> Friend. Add the relevant IP address.

Restart the computer and check it once.

thanks

Ah, glad I remembered it correctly, thanks Tech

Thanks for all replies, I have found the right answer. There is a short instruction for Avast! customers who have an HD player with SMB connected with a computer in one home local net (it means only you and your family can use all devices):

  1. Avast main GUI → firewall → expert settings-> Friend. Add the player’s IP address.
  2. Avast main GUI → firewall → firewall settings-> work / middle emergency zone.
