heise.de reports avast! will replace bitdefender in gdatas avk 2007

Hi everyone,

as stated in the subject avast! seems to replace bitdefender in the upcoming avk 2007. In case you are interested you might want to have a look at the following page:

(in german)

According to that article the new combination with avast! delivered the best results while using less ressources.

Now who saw that coming? ;D

Oh… that seem to be the reason that Vlk made an ‘advertisement’ of this antivirus system…

A multipy engine antivirus 8)

I just hope that GData will provide lots of samples to Awill to add

Haha! - Smart move!

I hope hope this will further increase the quality of avast! - Although I doubt that there will be a big exchange of know how. (Or will there be any, Vlk? ;D )

At least that should increase alwil’s revenue and I hope they will further strengthen their development acivities… (Rootkits, anyone? )

Yes, I can now confirm this.

We have been working together with G-Data through this summer and I hope the avast- and Kaspersky- powered AVK 2007 will be a nice product.

Cheers
Vlk

Vlk, will it be sold by Alwil or, on contrary, it will be sold by the 3rd party G-Data without Alwil intervention and you’ll receive only a % of the sold licenses?

By G-Data, of course! It’s all they do, and they’re pretty good at it (especially in their home market - Germany).
