Help! Can't delete virus

While scanning through the memory test when avast! started, a virus was found in memory – a trojan executable file in a folder called C:/Program Files/Timesink. However, I can’t delete the file, rename it, or otherwise get rid of it. I was able to move the entire folder and its contents it to my trash bin, but when I try to empty the trash bin it won’t delete that executable file.

The error message tells me that access to the file is forbidden.

Any clues how I can purge my system of this infection?

Thanks.

David

Timesink is spyware and both Adaware and Spybot S&D should detect and remove it.

Here it is again. Search the forum. It has been at leat two threads discussing this. Several users (my self and a friend of mine incuded) has gotten into situation where a virus is detected, but neither Clean nor Move to chest nor Delete is working. It’s very frustrating (I don’t really want to press Continue on a virus message

Timesink is “installed” spyware

Thanks for the suggestions. I finally got rid of it.

You’re welcome
