Help Changing "Local Time" Settings?

Hello, I have been looking under my profile settings to try and edit the local time setting so I can adjust it to Eastern Standard Time in the United States. I haven’t been able to find it, though. Can anyone help me with this please?

Hi jaxter9000, do you mean this one ?

Yes, thank you so much, JSN! I can’t believe that I didn’t see that sooner. :stuck_out_tongue:

This no longer appears. My local time appears as UTC, not US Eastern time, and I don’t see a way to set it.

Some settings are unavailable till you have reached 20 posts.

And the reason for this little annoyance would be…what?
I came here to ask this very question. I now see that it is by design. Obviously somebody thought it was a good idea.

Some forum features are locked out till the 20 posts are met for the reason of limiting the options that the spammers and trolls receive.

Well, I’m not sure why limiting the local time setting is useful in that context, but I suppose by commenting, I’m getting one post closer to 20.

I believe there are some areas of the Profile that you may be able to access. Have you tried clicking the Profile button on the menu bar at the top of each page ?

It may be that the section of the profile information (Look and Layout) has other things on there other than the time, I don’t see anything in that section that should block access to it. But I’m just an avast user and forum member not the forum administrator.

Look and Layout isn’t present. That must be one part that’s no available until 20 posts have been reached. The only sections I see are username display, email, choose (or change) password, secret question, and current password (to change any of the above.

That’s a shame, as I can’t really see why the section would be so sensitive.
