HELP! I password protected my avast and now can't access anything!!

So, I password protected my free avast and have managed to lose the password. A friend suggested I uninstall and then reinstall avast, but there is no uninstall option. I’m at my wits end now since I can’t do ANYTHING with my avast at present. Suggestions please?? :frowning:

  1. Download avast! Free Antivirus: http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/setup_av_free.exe
  2. Follow instructions: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility
  3. Reinstall avast! with the downloaded installer from point 1.
