Help, lost all Firefox Bookmaks

I have just installed Avast and have lost all my Mozilla Firefox bookmarks. Any help to get these back would be appreciated.
I have to go out for an hour but will check on return

Many thanks

Have a look in x:\documents and settings\username\application data\mozilla\firefox\profiles for a file called bookmarks.html or bookmarks.bak.
Is one of them still there?

Usually it’s Firefox itself who trashes all bookmarks, not avast!..
…probably just a coincidence…

If you have truly lost them, you could import your bookmarks from IE or other browser so you aren’t starting from an empty state.

A valuable lesson in backing up things you don’t want to lose, when you get to a point where you have bookmarks you don’t want to lose, export them and save them as a part of your regular backup strategy (you are backing up volatile files and settings, etc.).

Backup… a way of living and surviving.
Anyway, Natchez, I never heard such a thing (avast! related to Favorites). Maybe you have installed any ‘tracks’ eraser, temporary files cleaning, etc.

Thanks for replies, still can’t find Bookmarks. It would appear that I have imported them and password info when installing Avast, but I have no idea where they have been imported to.

Import them again and then check ot the location given previously where firefox stores its bookmarks.html file.

Thanks will try that.

Happy to be able to help, a belated welcome to the forums.
