Help needed with removing Trojan and Malware

Hi, I’m a novice at computing, and am using avast! based on the recommendation of my friend.

Over the past week, I received numerous avast! Warnings for the following Trojan Horse/Malware, and the only option provided for me (which I took) is “Abort connection”.
Can someone help me with the removal of these unwanted Trojans? Thanks!

Win32:Trojano-3233 [Trj]
Win32:Adan-094 [Adw]
Win32:Adan-078 [Adw]
Win32:Dialer-gen. [Trj]

Run a boot time scan with avast!. (Start avast! anti-virus, right click on the GUI, select Schedule a boot time scan.)

Run scans with the following programs:

Ewido http://www.ewido.net/en/

a-Squared http://www.emsisoft.com/en/

Ad-Aware http://www.majorgeeks.com/download506.html

Spybot Search & Destroy http://www.safer-networking.org/

Good luck!

Hello and welcome to the avast! user forums,

If your only option was to abort the connection then avast! succesfully stopped the malware from getting into your computer! Your option was to abort the connection because avast! wanted you to abort the connetion so you would not risk getting infected by the virus. So all in all avast! stopped the virus and you did not get infected. Also if you could please put the link of the site that got you infected please do that, but put the link in so if you click on it, it will not take you to the site. For example www, download, com notice I put , instead of. in front of the .com and after the www. so the link was not fully made.

You shouldn't have to do anything if as indicated by your statement they were detected by the Web Shield provider. This scans content before it is viewed by your browser (downloaded into the temporary internet files), if it finds a virus you get the warning and the option to abort the connection (drop the download, e.g. don't download it to the HDD), so if you do that then it won't be on your HDD.

If you check the avast Log Viewer, Warning section you will see their location as being a web page and not your HDD.

These messages can also result from Trojan downloaders trying to download spyware etc from a web site, so a thorough scan is a good idea anyway.

Good point Frank, if they are then it could also indicate a failing of yhzhuo’s firewall, if yhzhuo uses a firewall.

Hi Everyone, thanks for the advice you’ve provided so far.

I’ve done an avast boottime scan, installed and ran Ewido, A-squared, Adaware and Spybot. However, the avast! warning messages still keep popping up. The only (good?) news is that now instead of detecting 4 Trojans/Malware, only 3 are detected.

Win32:Adan-094 [Adw]
Win32:Adan-078 [Adw]
Win32:Dialer-gen. [Trj]

Is there any further action that may be helpful?

and what were the boot time scan’s results?

What site are you browsing when you get this message?

If it’s an innocent site, you may still have a Trojan downloader on you computer.

Have you got a good third party firewall like Zone Alarm or Kerio? If not, I suggest you install one. ZA is probably the most user-friendly. Look for suspicious processes trying to connect to the internet and block any you find.

You could also post a HijackThis! log for us to look at:
