sorry if my english is not perfect …i’m not english speaking…thank you

There are a lot of reasons for this to be happening…

Are you using Windows XP/Vista?
Can you schedule a boot-time scanning?
Start avast! > Right click the skin > Schedule a boot-time scanning.
Select for scanning archives.
Boot.
If infected files are found, it’s safer to send them to Chest instead of deleting them.
This way you can further analysis them.

The most common cause is files being in use or protected, in either case the Boot-time scan as suggested by Tech should get round that as they shouldn’t be in use before windows starts.

Also see http://www.digitalred.com/avast-boot-time.php.

i got windows xp
and i will schedule a boot time scan…
do you know if i must uninstall <> anti-spyware? because it start when the computer start…
i’ll boot-time scan my archive and tell you what happened then.

No, it can run side-by-side with avast.

ougaouga
just for clarity
are you referring to
Spybot Search and Destroy T-Timer?

good luck and welcome to the forums

if you get any hits on your boot time scan do not delete/remove but move to chest

yeah spybot T-timer…exactly…anyway…i’ve done the boot-time scan and i can’t do any of the action proposed …it says <> somethink like<<error 4413>> cannot chest the files… i’ve tried every of the action proposed!! and it 's always <<error 4226>>shit… should i uninstall spybot and retry the boot scan?

It’S a trojan…should i turn off my computer and bring it to a technician?

I don’t think the problem is Spybot S&D as that won’t be running before windows starts, when the boot-time scan is running.

Have (or did) you another AV installed in this system, if so what was it and how did you get rid of it ?

This could have effected your avast installation so some elements haven’t installed correctly.

not to panic
answer DavidR’s question any other AV ever or pre-installed and which ones
we can deal with trojans as well as any technician
who most likely would just wipe your hard drive- if you know a good one send em my way

Is there anything in the chest already? (not including SYSTEM backup files)?

Any other anti malware / anti spyware apps installed besides Spybot (good app IMHO)
windows defender etc?

can you boot into SAFE MODE and run a spybot scan?
quarantine- do not delete/ remove

yeah i’ve got AVG and the free edition is ,i believe, out of date…so i change it for avast…but i also try windows live one care for a 90 days trial…but it was slowing down my system + it was for 90 days…so i choose avast…
i uninstalled them…maybe i delete one of them with the <> because it doesn’t get any uninstall.exe … i don’t remember all that stuff…you think i must re-install avast?

yeah i"vo got something in the chest
(3 objects >> kernel32.dll ,winsock.dll and wsock32.dll >>
location: C\windows\ system32 )…you want more details?
sorry if it’s system back up file…

i don’t think there’s another anti-spyware beside “search and destroy” in my system…

i have difficulties with starting my system in SAFE MODE… i know i can because i have already done it before but i don’t know how i’ve done it…

i’m gonna scan with spybot in NORMAL MODE …and tell you what happened.

Do not screw with the files in the system back up file

OK usually you tap F8 repeatedly to get into safe mode

post back any hits
quatentine- do not remove/delete

then (I hope you are not on dial up)
go to add remove programs and remove live one care if there

remove Avast

We gotta clean up the AVG leftovers
http://www.pchell.com/virus/uninstallavg.shtml
then
go here
http://www.grisoft.com/ww.download-tools
and chose the correct AVG remover tool- first two choices and run it

then go here
http://www.pchell.com/virus/uninstallantivir.shtml
start here and do the rest of the page - and yes we know you did not have antivir- but the tool works

What if Windows Security Center Shows AntiVir or other muliple Antivirus products installed

One quirk with AntiVir causes it to still show up in the Windows Security Center even when its been uninstalled properly. If this is the case, please refer to this article to resolve it.

http://www.pchell.com/support/multiple_antivirus_in_security_center.shtml

then run the registry cleaner

http://dl.antivir.de/down/windows/registrycleaner.zip
I’ll post the instructions here in case you want to download the tools and disconnect from the internet
If for some reason the normal uninstall does not work, you may have to download AntiVir’s registry cleaner utility to remove all traces of it from the registry and allow you to reinstall it.

  1. Click on the following link and download the AntiVir Registry Cleaner to your desktop

http://dl.antivir.de/down/windows/registrycleaner.zip

  1. Create a folder on your desktop called Antivir and Unzip the file to your desktop

  2. Double-click on the file called RegCleaner.exe to run it

  3. Since the program is German, you’ll have to click on the button called “keys asulesen” to search the registry for any issues.

Then place checkmarks next to the registry entries you wish to delete.

  1. Finally, click on the button called “loschen” to delete the keys

  2. Restart your computer and try to reinstall your antivirus

reinstall avast

OKKKKKKKKKKKK you sure i must do all that stuff…sure it’s even a real virus? because i heard…anyway…too much for me tonight… I’ll chek it out tomorrow…
and oh yeah… i forgot…i have advanced windows care on my computer …wich is a anti-malware program…should i remove it?
thanks a lot guys…(sorry if you’re a girl)
see ya tomorrow

do not run windoze uno care till we’re all done

It could be worse
we had one lately with McAfee, Norton AND AVG
surprised it even ran

what do you mean by

ok…i’m gonna wait the answer from avast! suport center and if they don’t know what to do i’ll try your idea…it’s too much for me now…i’m gonna tell you what’s goin on by the end of the week.
