Help problems with avast and internet

My internet suddenly dropped from my main computer. i am normally connected by cable (not wireless). i was able to connect briefly by wireless and then it does not repsond to wireless on my secured wireless. i am on another computer now(I checked if the cable was working and it is) and the wireless on secure line does not work on this computer any longer.

Windows is up to date and my anitvirus/ malware also is i keep all my installed programs up to date using ninite to install most of them and use an update checker for the rest…

I had a similar problem like this with my wireless last year on a computer and it took months to solve it.

I have made copies of elevated diagnostics file when i think the problem occurred as well as the results file(MS diagnostics) and event file(15300 code) and ran minitoolbox.
I also noticed that Avast said the web shield did not load when I started my computer again and i could not restart it manually :o. I turned my computer of as it was late at night. This morning it was saying the same thing but I manually installed the latest virus definition. after this it said Avast 4 did not recognize the definition ( I have the most resent version of Avast >:(
I have set it to run a boot scan when i turn it back on.
What else should I do?

You could try either a repair of Avast and if that fails then run a clean install

I removed avast with the removal tool and re-installed and still it does not work. I get an error #10044 and it say mail and websheild will not work. It might have to do with the Microsoft update that was issued late last week?

Both browsers will not connect to the internet with avast running. When I disable avast they both work fine.
I purchased avast pro and hope to use it as the only antivirus program on my XP desktop. Also, with avast running, I get a BSOD when I shut the computer down. With avast disabled this does not happen. Everything else works too. I tried avast with the Windows firewall off, but still the browsers will not connect to the net.
After submitting a support ticket to avast, I got a request to send information to Chekoslovakia, hmmm…
Thinking of deleting it completely and going back to McaFee or some other virus program that works.

What AV did you have previously ? And was it fully uninstalled
