Help regarding Anti-Theft Question

I am using Anti-Theft from a month and want to know whether the commands sent via Avast Portal are received by the targeted Android phone through SMS or the mobile network(Wifi or 3g). And does the phone reply to the command by sending a SMS to Avast or using the internet.
And would there be a problem if the mobile network isn’t active on my phone?

Hi,
When remote control your phone via avast! Portal, WIFI connection is required. If your phone does not connect to WIFI, commands can not be send correctly.
In case of no network available, kindly using SMS Commands to remote your phone :).

of course it also works on mobile data connection not only WIFI.

Well Thanks for the help. I also want to know whether I can use free online SMS services to send commands to my phone, as these services include an additional line or two of advertisement. Will Avast! still recognize the command? :-\

if you send the command like

2222 LOCK

just type

2222 LOCK ##

the ## will terminate the line so that the rest of the advertisement is being skipped.
