Hello, can somebody please let me know how I can reset my pass-word? My notebook promptly saved my pass word but I cannot recall it so now I need to reset it.

Are you talking about the avast settings password ?
If so, effectively the only way round this is to reinstall avast.
Eh eh… there is a workaround…
You just need to be an administrator and delete the file C:\Users\All Users\Alwil Software\Avast5\aswResp.dat
Maybe using Unlocker? Maybe at Safe Mode?
