reel - please remove your link to the active virus!
ok, done! so you have solution for my problem?
Thank you.
If avast! isn’t detecting this what antivirus did, and what are the file names and locations? Also, what operating system do you have?
Symantec has some information on lunalight@mm
http://www.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2006-091814-5402-99&tabid=1
but I haven’t found much on the others.
Send the sample to avast for analysis and hopefully inclusion in the VPS before you ultimately deal with it.
Send the sample to virus@avast.com zipped and password protected with password in email body and undetected malware in the subject.
Or you can also add the file to the User Files (File, Add) section of the avast chest and send it from there (right click, email to Alwil Software). No need to zip and PW protect when the sample is sent from chest.
ok, thanks!
No problem, welcome to the forums.
When seeking confirmation about a suspect file it is better to compare against multiple different AVs, this isn’t practical to do it one at a time and there are sites that have multiple AVs to scan a file that you upload.
You could also check the offending/suspect file at: VirusTotal - Multi engine on-line virus scanner I feel virustotal is the better option as it uses the windows version of avast (more packers supported) and there are currently 29 different scanners.
Or Jotti - Multi engine on-line virus scanner if any other scanners here detect them it is less likely to be a false positive. Whichever scanner you use, you can’t do this with the file in the chest, you will need to move it out.
