Help. Win32: Trojano-213 [Trj]

This is relentless. I have been running micro Trend to make certain I was outta the woods due top my bad virus stuff yesterday. Everything looked good and wam here I am again. Nothing I do will wipe this one out. It is saying in the Avasy popups everytime the path can’t be found and it won’t disappear. When I search for the path I can’t finsd it either. Can someone tell me how this one can be killed?

Please provide more info.
-What OS?

  • What file is reported as infected?
  • What is its location?

I am using WinXP home ed. with IE 6.0

It says inside C:/ drive and it is a file known as Recyclers. I can’t locate it. I will report more once I’m done with Bit Defender.

More about this virus:
I didn’t know if I added these details-
It’s located here (although not seen) C:/temp/Installer2.exe
the version (Avast tells me) is: VPS vers. 0443-3 10/22/2004

Question with An update: Using the online malware scan I have located a file with malware. The name is PreInsln.exe inside my Windows folder of the C:/ drive. Is that a file that can be deleted? I’m asking cuz I dunno if it is something only infected or if it was added to my system and simply doesn’t belong there. It appears to have come into my system on 10/17 (which was the beginning of my headaches). Please confirm if you know this to not be a needed file so I can delete it. Thanks so much.

It has now been deleted (although I still AM infected) I read it was created on the said date inside the properties. WHen will these crappy things quit? ughhhh. Still scanning with the online tools.

Click on the link in my signature. Follow all steps on that page. Take your time to do so. Let us know if you still have problems when you finished that.

Eddy, I hav followed the instructions and checked with all the mentioned online tools and avast but after about 24hrs of quiet/calm it gets reinfected in my C;/temp folder today bitfinder and Avast are reporting to me this: here’s what I have so far on bitdefender:

C:\Documents and Settings\A\Local Settings\Temp\jkill.exe: infected with Application.ProcKill.Jk
C:\Documents and Settings\A\Local Settings\Temp\jkill.exe: disinfection failed

I even had found the installer it was coming from and several times now have deleted it (2varities) from my folder into trash and deleted the trash too- it keeps returning. If The disinfection at Bit Defender fails, then what’s next? Is my puter unsaveable??

Please post a hijackthis log here and let us have a look.

yaz, I too had these problems and was infected on the above stated date w/5 viruses. Dont give up & get frustrated. Take your time. It took me awahile but I finally got it. Eddys remedies do work. Also maybe you should try re-writing the catroot system files. That was the only way I was able to get an upperhand on my backdoor (trj) and worms. Be sure that you understand the instructions completely before you attemt this. One fowl move could hurt a bit. If you try not to let it get the best of you, you will get the best of it!! Try http://www.paretologic.com . There is a free download available on this page for XoftSpy. It was the first one that pin pointed my creepy crawlies right away. This cool little tool saved my butt and my sanity!! Good luck and god speed. Lala
