I have recently been having problems with my ( Outpost firewall on my Windows XP laptop, since i went wireless with a speed touch router.
I wondered if my router was causing the problem, the Outpost firewall does not opperate properly and keeps saying discontected.
I’ve been using Avast free home edition with the ( Outpost firewall for many months now, and it has been working fine while i was using a modem connection.
my version Outpost Firewall Pro ver. 6.7.1 (2983.450.0714):
What version do you have ?
Have you got the Outpost, Self-defence enabled (right click the Outpost icon), see image, as it is possible that malware if on your system could disable it.
What is the full error text of the error when it is disconnected.
What happens when you restart it ?
There aren’t any settings in the firewall for modem or router (dial-up or broadband) I believe, I’m on dial-up.

Hi, jmo it sounds like a issue between the router and the wireless adapter in the laptop. What connection software does the laptop use?
Is it the windows wireless zero configuration or a 3rd party software?
I decided to uninstall the old version of ( outpost free edition and then re-installed a new up to date version, i think the firewall its working okay now.
What extra features does the ( outpost pro give you, and is that version free to use.
Outpost firewall pro is the paid firewall option, some of the extras I have actually disabled anyway, but the new Outpost free is a good alternative as it contains the essential firewall elements of the Outpost Pro version.
