Help with Galaxy Nexus can't install OTA

Rooted Galaxy Nexus

I’ve received System Update (jelly bean) OTA . Something went wrong after restarting and aborted updating . Hmm , “Of course it was Anti-theft” I said. Tried to uninstall anti-theft .After deactivating Anti-theft I followed the removal wizard . At final step It said that the “UPDATE.ZIP” file was created and ready for flashing to uninstall Anti-theft using Rom Manager or Recovery Mode. Unfortunatly, neither Rom Manager nor recovery mode worked .

Although I used factory data reset the phone still can’t install OTA update !

Any idea ?? Or any rescue file can help in this case ?

Please excuse my English , I know it is horrible

Sorry ,

I found out that the problem was because of “fastboot command read error 2147483647”

Solved, and OTA update has been installed successfully .

Thanks and sorry if I bothered you .

That is good news, as I was watching this topic with interest as I also have a Galaxy Nexus ICE 4.0.4, so have been awaiting the 4.1 Jelly Bean update.

Was there something that you had to change in your settings to resolve the fastboot error ?

My OTA failed too on Galaxy Nexus 4.0.4. Would it be anti-theft? Why?

The OPs second post indicates he found the problem:

I don’t believe the anti-theft would stop an OS update (not really theft related) or you would probably have noticed that on the other smaller OS updates from 4.0.1 through 4.0.4 on your phone.

I’ve discovered that the bootloader must be unlocked to apply the OTA manually. Not sure if it will be applied automatically with a locked bootloader.

Mine is on default settings, so I presume the bootloader is a default setting to prevent malware/etc. loading at boot level.

But I would have though that the other smaller .0.1 updates would have suffered the same issue.

Actually ,I don’t know how this error happened. However, I had to download some files in order to flash bootloader then flash radio then flash rom .

Anti-Theft was innocent . As I said there was an error in fastboot .
