I have read the page at https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0
many times.
After the line that is RED and Uderlined that reads,
“To get assistance please create your own topic in the virus forum. This will ensure that you get answered and helped as soon as possible and do not get overlooked in an old thread. Thank you ;D”

Next Line says "If you are having problems still after MBAM has run then post in your thread in the Virus and Worms Forum, stating the problems you are experiencing with the computer and the FRST log… "

Where is this FRST.log file?
My MBAM is not generated it?
It does not exist on my system.

Then comes the really hard part for me to understand.
It says to download mbam and run it???
But the line above assumes you already have mbam and have alredy run it and havin it generate a log file.

AM I supposed to name the exported file myself as FRST ? or is FRST generated and saved somewhere?
I am lost to start a thread that ask for log files that I can not find.

If you already have malwarebytes then you of course dont have to download it, but make sure it is updated before you scan
The log is saved in the program, this should help you find it https://www.malwarebytes.org/support/guides/
Application logs https://www.malwarebytes.org/support/guides/mbam/

Where is this FRST.log file?
Have you downloaded and run FRST? ..... logs are saved at the same place as you saved/run FRST from

What problems are you experiencing ?

I had the URL avast pop up malware thing.
I read instructions wrong and ran combofix too soon.
Messed things up pretty bad so
I formatted and reinstalled windows 7. I installed avast, (full version).
Installed mbam.
Tried to install avast GrimeFighter,( full version).
It would not install.
I called Avast for help and the guy/tech said something was still on my
system and that there would be an additional charge to get the help
I needed. No price was given. I felt that after paying for 2 full versions
of avast and 2 full versions of grime fighter, that charging me again
seemed unfair.
So I thought I would try back here again where I have had success in the past.

The symptoms I now have are I cant get grimfighter to reinstall.
I cant burn to dvd, reading works fine.
I often get a popup from IE saying some unknown error, need to close.
But if I click cancel, the page will load.
I hope that gives you a clue.

For the most part the system seems fine. but I am going to be using an online broker soon, and want my
machine clean. I have also thought about getting a new sys just for online investing only.

When you try to burn a DVD what error do you get (also what programme are you using to burn)

When you try to run grimefighter what error do you get with that >

Alcholo 120% > Image Burning Wizard > Browse to .mds file , ( it has worked in the past and will mount

correctly > after a about 20 seconds I get the attached poup window. I also attached the Alcohol loging

window and saved the log as a txt , all attached below.

ConvertXtoDVD will burn a .wmv file to dvd format that plays
on the PC, but the disk wont play on my DVD player that is
connected to the TV upstairs.

I cant run grimefighter, it not on my system
since I formated the HD.
I cannot download the grimefighter again w/o paying, attached is my liceses,
I have a license for 2 copies of grimefighter.
attached is my proof of license.

BTW, when I ran aswmbr.exe I did see a line in RED text instead of the normal WHITE text.
I don’t know if the text in RED was flagging something or not?

The red AswMBR line is for the SPTD file

When you use grimefighter click the licence hyperlink to insert it

Do DVD’s burn correctly when you use the windows burner

I can not figure out windows burner. Its says it burns.
but it always adds a desktop.ini file.
I cant get anything from windows burner to run on my standalone
DVD player.
Also, after the burn, I will get ocational popup that there are
files waiting to be burned. It so different from any other burning software
that I cant figure it out.

GrimFighter, I have no idea what link in grimefighter you are talking about
because grimefighter is no longer installed. How do I install it w/o paying again?
Plus in 2 months AVAST is going to charge me again for it.

If I cant get it back, that’s OK. I need to know how to stop avast from charging me again
in March, for something that has not worked in months.

Did the attached files show no problem?
If not then mabey my system is clean and avast just
has no way to let people re=download the software w/o
paying again.

OK does grimfighter appear in the tools section of Avast ?
If not then go to Control Panel > Programs and features
Select Avast and choose change
Ensure that there is a tick in grimefighter
Then follow the prompts

Does not appear in tool section.
Followed your change instructions.
Grimefighter is already ticked.
I went ahead and let it go through the change.
Grimefighter still does not show up in avast tools.

While grimefighter does not show up from the OVERVIEW > TOOLS ,

There is a reference to it in OVERVIEW > SETTINGS > TOOLS …which
reports that grimefighter is on.

I found it.
OVERVIEW > SETTINGS > SUBSCRIPTION > Grimefighter was in list but grey.
There was a link for already have key and it worked.
