Hi,
I contacted the phone number I found on-line for Avast Customer support. The girl I spoke with could hardly speak English or had such a bad accent that I could not understand some of what she was saying. I complained of the SKY HIGH price Avast was to auto charge me next month when my subscription is running out and I am not going to renew unless I get a MUCH MUCH MUCH better price. I was told that I would be getting a refund from my last subscription and that I will get a 50% discount on my next subscription which brings it down close to $40 bucks. I said that is fine. Well, I never got a refund and I received an email from Avast saying that they listened to my recorded phone conversation with their representative and I misunderstood what the girl was telling me so I would not be getting a refund??? (I made her repeat it several times!) Funny, I got an email saying the refund was being processed. Now they want me to let my subscription run out and the next day I am to call this number: 855 475 XXXX. (If it’s not legit I’ll post the complete number.) They say I will then get my subscription renewed and I will receive a 30% discount. SORRY but that price is too high. $105.00 minus 30% is regular price. Don’t forget taxes!! I see other people are getting the same subscription for $40 to $50.00. So, my question is did I call the correct number or is there a fake web site out there claiming they are AVAST? Why would they ask me to let my subscription run out before calling. ALSO the email I received had broken English sentences. For instance: " I have doubled check your account and I can see here that your subscription will expires this coming …" I’m worried. What country is AVAST main office in ? Does anyone have the correct number to call? I may be signing up with another company if I can’t get this resolved. I’ve been with Avast for a good number of years and hate to change but I refuse to be taken advantage of anymore.
Jim
