I’ve tried all of the following:
Refreshing the security center. Turning of the security center then restarted it.
Totally uninstalling avast! reboot… re-installed avast! reboot… NOTHING seems to work.
Is there a registry entry that needs to be checked and possibly changed ???
Why do these things always happen on a weekend? ;D
Thanks, been there done that. Now it tells me that I don’t have any AV program installed on my computer. ??? ??? ???
Have even uninstalled avast again and re-installed it including shut down and restarts with no change.
When all else fails, use a program frowned upon by many which is part of Windows called
System Restore. There are times when it comes in handy. This was one of those times:
Bob: Just for curiosity. Was the blue ball still active when you had the Windows Security Center error? Was the problem with WSC or avast! do you think?
Gene ,
The fault was with the Windows security center.
Tech,
I followed directions. Including booting twice.
When that still didn’t work, I un-installed avast!, rebooted.
Re-installed avast! and again rebooted.
At that point, The security center still said that I had no Av installed.
That’s when I used System Restore to bring the system back to a prior time when I knew
I didn’t have any problems.
Now I just have to remember what I’ve done for the past day and a half and bring everything up-to-date.
Remembering gets harder as you get older. Forgetting seems to become effortless. ;D ;D
