I’m dual booting with Windows 7 and XP. Under XP, I’m running a classic Macintosh emulator. It uses .hfv files as virtual Macintosh hard drives. I just ran Avast! (in Windows 7) and it flagged them as a Macintosh virus and deleted them without a prompt. I just lost years of data due to this. There were no viruses on those drives.
go to the next Apple store and get hold of a MAC with a legit copy of OSx on board : http://images.apple.com/legal/sla/docs/macosx104.pdf
…if you have issues with your Win7/XP keygens, don’t hesitate to post back, I’ll suggest what to do ;D
These were pre-OS X drives and I have a legitimate copy of the OS used. Apple no longer makes computers compatible with OS 9 and below. My reasons for needing access to such old systems are not relevant.
What does this have to do with Avast! deleting files it isn’t supposed to?
