Hello I have the following problem,
Avast is using 25-40% of the CPU while downloading Games with Steam or Origins. Its pretty annoying and its new (dont recognized it a few month ago) why does AvastSvc.exe needs so much CPU Power and how can i reduce it?
Im very grateful for any help!
Here are my Systemspecs if someone wants to know them:
You can go to Settings->Active Protection->Web Shield->Web Scanning.
By default, it’s checked to scan all files downloaded from the internet.
You can set which type of files it will scan.
You can also go to exclusions and set the steamapps\downloading folder as an exclusion, so Avast! will not scan it when you download games,
That is a really bad advice.
Better is to try to solve the problem.
Start with a repair of avast.
Often it solves issues.
If it doesn’t, perform a clean installation of the latest avast.
After doing so, check if the problem is solved.
Nori,
if a car doesn’t run anymore because a lack of fuel, you can push it and it will go forwards (if you push hard enough).
But that is not solving the problem
I have the same problem as him (but I really don’t care about the high CPU usage).
Since Steam download games in many small parts, I can understand that Avast! is scanning all of them (just take a look at the “Statistics”).
I know it’s not the best solution because of the less security. But still, I don’t know anything else that will work.
Maybe repair or a clean installation will work.
EDIT:Oh, please note that I didn’t made that suggestion because I wanted to be mean. Just wanted to help.
