High Ram Usage When Scanning

I have been having some issues on my computer, so I have tried to run a scan on avast one. However, when I try to do such thing, it doesn’t work. I start the scan, and it gets stuck at a random percentage and doesn’t resume even if I keep it running all night long. While it’s running, or if I stop the scan, avast starts to use up obscene amounts of ram. It starts at around 1-2GB but if I let it keep going without restarting my computer, it will go into tens of gigabytes. This makes it completely impossible to scan my system. I then tried to stop the scan and try scanning specific folders or drives, but the issue still persists. If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated. I have no idea what I could even try.

Hi, i personally experience it… use boot time scan instead. update your definition first [Explorer > Open scan Centre > Boot time scan > download]
Hope it helps…
