Hijack This - can you look at this please?

Some strange looking entries below - I have no Hewlett Packard for example and what is this Ipod reference (though I have Itunes on desktop?).

Also any other issues you see on the Hijack??

Avast went through clean but while my router logs in my email it doesn’t go online through my computer. Been battling with this for a week now, got some help from Microsoft but not a huge amount.

Thanks for any help advice.

Anyone please? I am not sure why but it looks different from previous results and i fear there is something infecting my system, stopping me getting online through my router. I thought this log might give someone a clue? Sorry I don’t always reply same day as I am sweveral time zones removed from you but still recommend avast to all my friends.

I’m not an expert… but your HijackThis log seems clean…

I suggest:

  1. Disable System Restore and reenable it after step 3.
  2. Clean your temporary files.
  3. Schedule a boot time scanning with avast with archive scanning turned on.
  4. Use SUPERantispyware and/or Spyware Terminator to scan for spywares and trojans. If any infection is detected, better and safer is send the file to Quarantine than to simple delete than.
  5. Test your machine with anti-rootkit applications. I suggest AVG or Trend Micro RootkitBuster.
  6. Immunize your system with SpywareBlaster or Windows Advanced Care.
  7. Check if you have insecure applications with Secunia Software Inspector.

 Hi Hawick :

As “Tech” implied, your incomplete HijackThis log ( you cut off the top
portion which shows the system Information ) shows no antiSPYWARE/
antiTROJAN program(s), a serious security lapse . I recommend the FREE
Version of “SUPERAntiSpyware” .
Your Adobe Reader is very outdated and a very serious security risk; it has
been under “attack” and it is recommend you uninstall it and get a safer
“Reader”, such as “Foxit Reader” with Info at
www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/rd_intro.php .
IF you want to remove Hewlett Packard “Share-to-web”, I recommend you
try following THEIR Recommendations at
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&lang=en&cc=us&os=228&product=60115&dlc=en&docname=bps05564 .

Once again everyone, many thanks. I have installed SuperAntiSpyware on both main computer and laptop. Found a few tracking cookies but otherwise nothing. Also working through Tech’s other suggestions

Have taken out Adobe 7 and will install your suggestion when i get the time.

Once again not only top marks to your replies, but finding so little on such an old and I’d have thought vulnerable computer is yet one more huge tick for avast!

Just to say a quick thanks to all - again- for your time and help, and to add that I think Foxit is loads better, neater and easier to use than Adobe.

I’d recommend Foxit to everyone, certainly for everyday use!
