Home Network Security Scan Results Question

After I run a scan, I click on the details listed for your device which is my computer. Under Details/Services, it lists a bunch of numbers with unknown next to them. I want to know what the numbers mean. This has happened for the past few days.

No problems are ever found.

Welcome to the forum.
A screenshot would certainly be helpful.

Sounds to me like they are IP addresses.

I apologize for not including a screen shot. How do I insert an image?

They are not IP addresses.

Bob, Thank you. I feel dumb because I overlooked it.

They are IP addresses. here’s your first one:
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc940063.aspx

I thought IP addresses would be something 216.134.xxx.xxx. Why are there so many listed? When it comes to something like this I have no idea. I’m just trying to understand it.

In this case, you were given the MAC address 9c:b7:0d:89:bf:73
with a listing of the IP addresses that couldn’t be identified. This doesn’t mean that you have a problem as the final analysis stated.

No, they are not IP addresses, they are port numbers.
A lot of them can be found here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_TCP_and_UDP_port_numbers

They all can be in use by legitimate applications/protocols, but also malicious activity can be using them.
With netstat you can see what protocol is used on what port as well as the local and the remote IP address.

Eddy:

Can you please help me find out if any malicious activity is using them? For the past several days, I’ve had a gut feeling that something isn’t right.

Post in the correct forum following these instructions > https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0

I already ran Malwarebytes earlier and it didn’t find anything. I’m sorry I didn’t mention it. Should I still run Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and aswMBR.exe?
