Hotmail pop3 email scan

I am using Hotmail’s Pop3 interface. The input is on port 995 SSL and the sending SMPT is on port 25 TLS secure connection.
Is there a way to make Avast check incoming and outgoing messages?

Hotmail have Trend Micro virus scan on the mailserver

It looks like, since Hotmail already uses Trend Micro virus scanner I don’t need to use Avast on my end.

double scanning is double protection if you feel unsecure.
Avast V5 can/will be able to scan SSL (still in beta)

Hotmail have Trend Micro
Yahoo = Norton
Gmail = McAfee and Authentium
