I’ve used malwarebytes and other programs but can’t remove http://www.searchnu.com/406 from becoming my default search engine. How can I get rid of it?

The link you give should be broken like with hxtp or wXw to avoid the unaware to click through. Wait for instructions from a qualified remover here to get rid of this crapware stealth browser hijacker. A qualified remover has been informed by me,

If AdwCleaner don’t remove adware (but it should be removed with AdwC), then run OTL and attach OTL.txt to hunt and remove adware manually.
Also, run aswMBR.exe to chech possible boots rootkits.
Forgive my paranoia, but when I try to install AdwCleaner I get all kinds of warnings from my computer. See the attached JPG. Are you sure that the URL to reference the program hasn’t been hijacked and modified? I don’t want to compound my problem by installing a virus against malware program advice.
the program is safe to run…we use it here every day…if it was not it would not be in our guide

AdwCleaner is just a small tool that scan registry entries for known bad url browsers entrys, bho, toolbars ( adware ) and remove it. Be free to run tool as instructed.
