How can I remove Win32:JunkPoly [Cryp] virus? Help please it can't be deleted.

Any advice or a program that could successfully remove this virus

Make sure you have read the topic here about this virus alert (the one with Omni in the heading) as you may simply be getting today’s bugged false positive report which is being fixed later today it would seem.

I’ve read it and the file affected was .bpl from TuneUp Utilities… Too late my TuneUp is not working anymore

Check out this topic, http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=45686.0, depending on the file it could be an FP which has been corrected and should be in the next VPS update.

I’m new here and new to Avast and Spyware Doctor. I have read most of the posts concerning the pctoolscomponents.bpl not found and about the false positive. But so much that is written is worded it seems for those that are computer experts. Could you please word it so this “blonde” can understand what I’m supposed to do? I also moved something to the “chest” on Avast and one poster said to right click on something to get it back. I right clicked till my right hand hurt and I never found anything that would open so I could move it. Maybe more detailed step by step instructions would help those of us that are computer challenged. Thanks so much for those that are trying to help us. I appreciate it greatly.

Just update your virus database. It was already corrected.
Boot if necessary.

One poster here ;D

Once you have the latest VPS then presumably you sent the components.bpl to the avast chest ?

If so then you can restore it from the chest (see below), right click the file in the Infected Files section of the chest and select Restore.

Using explorer navigate to this file, C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashChest.exe and double click it, that opens the chest (there is another way to open it but this is less detailed). Now select the Infected Files section, find your file and right click on it, select Restore. avast will now put it back in the original location (a copy remains in the chest).
