How come I was not required to enter license number on a brand new laptop

So I got a brand new laptop and went to https://my.avast.com/en-us/#devices/add and clicked on “download installer” to download avast internet security. I downloaded and installed it but never asked me to introduce my license number, it finished installed and upon checking in the interface of the program it shows my subscription, days left, email,

How could this be? the program I downloaded from https://my.avast.com/en-us/#devices/add contained my license? anyone explain me pls thanks

If you sign into my.avast.com account, you’ll find that it’s your account and it knows all about you, the devices installed and the licenses you have.
So, downloading or adding a device from your my.avast.com account would know your license. :slight_smile:
