I need to export the saved logons/passwords from Avast browser on Win 7 and then import them to Avast browser on Win 10. The version of Avast browser I have is: Version 109.0.19987.120[/size]It does NOT have “export logons/passwords” as an option on the saved logons settings page. How do I export them and then how do I import them to Avast browser on Win 10?
Hello,
Don’t you want to consider syncing your data to the cloud and then just downloading it in the browser on newer windows version?
That way you will always have your data backed up.
Instructions for creating an account are here: https://support.avast.com/en-ww/article/246/#mac
Export without using Sync account:
To export and re-import bookmarks:
- Open “secure://bookmarks/” link in browser
- Click the three dots in the top right browser and click Export bookmarks
- Backup you exported file (USB, external drive etc.)
- Install browser on new OS
- Copy files from USB and repeat the steps 1), 2) but choose Import bookmarks and follow the guide
To export and re-import passwords:
- Open “secure://settings/passwords” in browser
- Click the three dots in the top right browser and click Export passwords
- Backup you exported file (USB, external drive etc.)
- Install browser on new OS
- Copy files from USB and repeat the steps 1), 2) but choose Import passwords and follow the guide
Kind regards,
Josef
Thank you JosefK. I see that now. Your reply points me to the export. I seem to not know the user password that was set on this computer for me as it was set up for me to logon without entering the password - so it won’t do the export. But that’s my problem.
Unless you use the same password for everything, (bad idea) the password for Avast isn’t the same as for the computer.
I did get it to work for my other computer where I do know the password.
