I have a Trojan Horse (Threat: JS:Illredir-CQ (Trj) >:( in my WebShield Log. I seem unable to move it to the Virus Chest. Please help!
Hi alanwinstone, welcome to the forum
By webshield log, you mean the log that appears when you click on “shield log” button for the web shield?
This is a log of all the sites that avast! has blocked, not a list of infected items that need adressing.
I do see your problem though, since it still gives the option on what action to take. This is essentially a mistake in the programming of this part of the logs…
I think there was a way to clear these logs (delete a file) but I can’t remember which it was…I need to find out…mine is a little cluttered…
Scott
Thanks Scott - I note the entry in the Shield Log is just a record of what’s been blocked, although I would have thought the item should appear in the Virus Chest? I guess there must be a way to clear the log, but I just can’t figure out how to do it.
Well, depending on the shield/action taken it would appear in the virus chest, but the web shield is different. As the only action is to “Abort Connection” it wouldn’t go to the virus chest. The connection is terminated by avast before anything is downloaded.
There isn’t a direct clear log button (it has been requested I think) but I think there was a roundabout way to do it, but I can’t remember which file it is stored in…
Cheers Scott - I’ll relax now.
You’re welcome
