You will need 20 posts before you can PM other members.

As Charyb states, you need 20 posts and this is strictly to prevent SPAMers from abusing the forum.

Essentially there shouldn’t need the PM function in a support forum as support issues should be discussed in the forums.

The question (and answer) may well be one that others will benefit from and this won’t happen using the PM function.
