How do I recover my Avast subscription?

I have to do a factory fresh install on my laptop because of a pop up that cant be removed & no one seems to know what it is or where it came from. Can I use a flash drive & backup the Avast account? I dont have any disks, am disabled & cant get access to any for a while. Or can you even download the program to re-install?

Here is the pop-up, maybe someone in here will know what it is?

C:\PROGRA~2\BEARSH~1\MediaBar\Datamngr\x64\IEBHO.dll

Any help at all would be appreciated. I want this thing removed but if I do a fresh factory install I lose my year subscription to Avast I just bought? I am not that computer literate. I have tried Malewarebytes& a few other programs & nothing will find or remove this pop up? HELP PLEASE >:(

why not let Essexboy have a look inside before you do that

see the guide here http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0
follow the instructions and attach (not copy and paste) the OTL.txt log

Or can you even download the program to re-install?
yes ....everyday if you want ;) you dont say what avast you have free/pro/AIS anyway it is the license file that is important to save if you have payed for it

Thanks for the info. I purchased the Avast for home use online. So all I need is the number that came with the email? License number?

I downloaded pic & music to a flash drive to save & then forgot I probably downloaded the virus or whatever it is also?

Dont dare do the clean install yet.

Maybe just chuch this thing & buy a new one, lol. Would solve the problem!

if you do as i said above and attach a OTL log so essexboy can check/fix it

it seems to just be some toolbar crap leftover
