How is avast! pronounced?

Just wondering how avast! is pronounced. Is it aVAST! like the nautical term or Avast! with more emphasis on the a?

I would say there is no need for emphasis at all, yes, it is related to a nautical/pirate term but there would be on need for emphasis in normal speech as you aren’t seeking to gain attention.

Eddy one of our forum evangelists composed a little tune.
Toward the end of that tune, you can hear him pronounce it very distinctly.
If that’s the correct pronunciation, I don’t know. I do know that’s how Eddy pronounces it. ;D
