How many virus types in avast

I just installed avast 4 workstation on CentOS 5. After I scanned my folder , i found some file injected by virus, but i don’t kown the meaning of these types. I know [TRJ] for trojan, but I don’t know [PUP] for what.

Does someone has manual for explaining these types?

PUP means potentially unwanted program, this does not mean there is an infection, avast is just warning you of a suspicious program so you have to decide wheather the program in question is known and trusted by yourself.

I believe PUPS are also off in default settings so if you dont understand these warnings you should revert avast to the default settings.
