How to acticvate WLAN/WIFI at a Vista computer?
do you mean how to turn it on?..... if so that depends on the computer brand.....full name and number

Yip, how to turn it on!

Not knowing the pc brand, you might want to check the built-in Windows “help files”.

We can’t tell you, This XP Pro desktop system doesn’t have wifi, so I can’t turn it on. On my win7 netbook system that has wifi built in and enabled by default, so it sought out my router with wifi and I was able to connect to that. It also has bluetooth which was enabled by default, but I disabled that as I didn’t want it paring with any other bluetooth device.

As you can see (I hope) if your system has wifi built into the motherboard, most likely it will be enabled by default, otherwise you would need to purchase a wifi dongle.

So we need to know what your systems is, make model, etc. as that should be able to be searched for the specifications (motherboard, etc.) to see if it even has wifi on the system.

HOW TO ACTIVATE WIFI @ VISTA LAPTOP
and laptops usually have a on/off button ..... but you dont say what brand and number

you can google how to turn on wifi on (brand and number) … and you should find the info

Try pressing “F2”.

F2 on it’s own wont help, you would have to press fn ( function ) + F2 but that all depends on the laptop as the others previously have asked.

Thanks guys for the replies.
It took some time before I got back again.
I was unable logging in using my “old” password, so I had to create a new one.
Okay, it’s an oldie I know.
Model Name: Toshiba Satellite A210-18S
Model No: PSAELE-02W00XDU
(with sticker CE/WIFI certified)

I do look forward hearing from you again, thanks.

Try Fn+F8

There is all the info about your system supplied here http://www.toshiba.nl/discontinued-products/satellite-a210-18s/ and yes you do have WiFi

As essexboy said try the button combination suggested, there should be a radio antenna icon on one of the F buttons which can be pressed after first holding down the fn button.

My old Toshiba laptop running win xp has a physical on/off switch .It’s located on the front edge of the laptop and has a wifi symbol next to it.
I’m sure the vary.

My Acer Aspire One, Win7 Starter (32bit) netbook uses the Fn+F3 button (with the antenna icon) for toggling the wifi. So as you can see there are many permutations of keys to access it, now you can see why we asked about your system.

When I click that it shows the status and allows for changing it (also shows Bluetooth on mine).

Thanks guys for the replies.
I will take a look at it tomorrow.
I will keep you informed.
