How to burn an ISO file as a bootable cd

Can anyone help?

I use this software called InfraRecorder, http://infrarecorder.org/

I want to burn this Lubuntu iso file which you can get here http://blog.lxde.org/?p=514

There are various option like Track at once, Session at once.

Which one should I choose?

just use a very simple iso burner like:

you don’t have to do anything, your ISO is the image of an operating system installation, so of course it will be naturally bootable ::slight_smile:

ISO Burner free, very simple

Logos I have a question.
Does that means that we can also write the ISO file in the cd and that it doesn’t matter if there is space left in the cd?

I don’t understand your question sorry; anyway, whatever you meant, burning an ISO directly is the mistake of many newbies I heard ;D (ie saving the *.iso to CD/DVD) …instead of using an ISO bruner that will extract the image out of the ISO and burn the files. The proper burning of an ISO on a CD/DVD leaves the media with no usable space on it, session closed and CD/DVD finalized. Don’t burn an ISO on a CD that already has some stuff on it.

Yes I thought that even if I do not burn it,it would have also worked.
Because the first time I burn an ISO file I was recommended to use Infra Recorder and it was successful.

Thanks for your advise,

The problem was with the .iso image not the software

It is not working on my PC

Hi, I tried this iso. Burned to cd using imgburn program. No problems booting /using from cd.
Maybe something needs tweaking in the BIOS. ???

do you mean that your CD doesn’t boot ?

The cd boots but the process does not complete. It gets stuck somewhere in between.

Lubuntu .iso may be the culprit

no it’s not the ISO, it’s probably the graphics drivers that fail loading. Is it a live cd or not ? anyway you must have start options in the boot menu, try them. Look either in the menu itself or at the “F” keys at the bottom of the screen. There are always “safe” options somewhere if a normal start doesn’t work. Look for “vesa” = basic graphics drivers that work most of the time… Do you get a “fail” message on the screen during the boot process, and what does it say ? (if you don’t have detailed info onscreen while booting press “esc” to see it)

It is a live cd

No prob.

I will download a newer one when they release it and then test drive Lubuntu

OK fine but did you try what I told you, I don’t think the ISO was bad nor do I think the CD failed to burn properly…
