How to Change Payment Type

Hello,

I’ve used avast for years. I no longer have the credit card it is associated with, so I would like to change payment to PayPal, but I don’t know where I can go to do it. The profile dashboard doesn’t seem to have an area to do it. I would like to maintain my renewal discount, so is there a way to do this?

It seems that Digital River doesn’t allow for Paypal and I don’t have a credit card. I don’t want to get a credit card. Does that mean I cannot use this service anymore?

I honestly don’t know if that is the case.

You could possibly delete that repayment method (and any auto payment setup) and when you get a renewal reminder in the avast UI start a new PayPal payment.

Unfortunately, you can’t just delete a payment method, especially, I guess, if that’s the only one listed. I can’t add a PayPal payment method because it only accepts credit cards as a form of payment. It’s really too bad, I guess, but I could use that money in a different way.

I don’t use a paid avast version, so I’m not familiar with that area. But I would have thought that cancelling/stopping the auto payment renewal, thus effectively unlinking it from a payment method would then have allowed for it to be removed/deleted.

Afaik, you can’t delete it because the payment method was used.
Deleting it would also mean deleting the payment information, but you can change it.
