How to clean infected items?

Hello!

I just wonder if someone can tell me how to clean infected clients using the new ABP console?
Has this to be done by creating a separate cleaning job?

AVAST4 managed version marked infected clients in RED and you could choose clean this one now;
but the new ABP console just checks the status of the scan-module and connection…?!

I can find any “clean” button - but maybe i’m just blind …

Any suggestions?

With this new console, you can only choose what is the predefinite action to do when a virus was found.
I think the default is move to chest, then if failed avast try to delete, but you can modify this value from expert settings in policy group.

However you can crate a job with (for example) a weekly scan and also here you can choose the default action if a virus was found.

If there’s a particulary warning on a client it is marked yellow in the console .

Thanks for your answer!

That’s exactly what I have already done. But for an ANTI-virus solution this
one option is more than discussable, isn’t it?

Don’t know why i should run scan’s over all clients, this would just increase
load and traffic. Also that there is no default job for cleaning after setup,
this has to be done manually…

But, hopefully, there will be some more customer friendly options with the next
release of ABP console.

Why? Simply program weekly or monthly scans during the night, no?
A full scan weekly/monthly is always recommended …

If I remember correctly, a quick system scan is performed after the installation …

some reasons to run scans:

  • security. If a shield missed an unknown virus which settled on the computer and the definitions are updated you catch it afterwards.

  • show management scan results about clean clients, showing that you do your job correctly

the question is, why would you NOT you scan?

the small temporary extra load is negligible compared to the problems you would get when a virus does settle and keeps going.
