How To Configure Avast Pro For VPN

My client is having to shut off Avast to get his VPN to work.

What setting do I need to modify so that he does not have to do this to use his VPN?

HI.

I too have exactly the same issue, yet it’s unclear from the many posts on the subject quite what one should do to solve the problem.

I’m running XP SP2 and recently upgraded to Avast home 4.8.1169. For the odd out of hours support call, I need to run a VPN over Watchguard 10.0 build 101. When I connect, WG Mobile VPN Monitor reports the connection made, but I cannot reach the devices on the other side of the remote firewall using VNC. Turning off Avast allows traffic connection, after which Avast can be re-enabled and the VPN continues to work seamlessly.

Agreed, it’s not much more than a time consuming nuisance, but it didn’t work that way with 4.7.

Any thoughts of precise instructions please?

Many thanks … Robin

Could you guys please try with the latest version of avast (4.8.1195)?
BTW what part of avast do you have to shut down in order to work around the problem?

Thanks
Vlk

Will do.

I just right click on the icon and ‘Stop On-access Protection’.

I’ve applied the latest patch, rebooted and voila!

Thanks Vlk.
