Hello avast fans!
please help me out!
i tried to disable the ‘avast self defence mode’ in trouble shooting settings and then tried to open ‘nshield’ in C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\DATA\log
but i’m not able to open nshield because it says ’ the nshield is being used by another program’.
and hence i cannot delete the last scanned items. Please help.

Basically what you described should be the way how it works…
What you could try additionally:
- make sure that the On-Access-Scanner-Windows is not opened
- stop avast! temporarily (rightclick a-symbol in taskbar → stop on-access-protection)
- try to delete the file directly after a system restart
do any of these things help?

You can disable future logging into Network Shield.
But it will be good that avast team think on housekeeping a little easier than it is right now…

This is what i did…
‘Right click the avast icon then stopped it, then i restarted the pc to see that its ON again!!!
so again i stopped it and tried to delete it but it gives the same message’

before being a member of this forum, i googled the topic and saw some of ur posts ONLYSOMEONE! So i really expected you to reply to this topic…
An other possibility is to use the Advanced File Remover…
This program has already worked successfull for me…
You have to disable avast! self defense and then run the advances file remover… (I think you need admin rights…)
