How does one eliminate those constantly popup ads
I don’t use the Avast Secure Browser for Windows or any Chromium based browser.
What are these popup ads, a screenshot might help.
Hi @user681,
could you please provide a screenshot and also the diagnostic information that you can see when accessing secure://settings/diagnosticInfo ?
Thank you
I don’t believe he means in browser pop up ads. Avast uses in APP ads and they are driving me crazy! Over and over trying to sell me all the Avast products I already own.
HEY AVAST! Please Stop! I don’t want to start uninstalling my at least 7 Avast products I have on my devices. But it is getting tedious and frankly, insulting!
And I do use Avast Secure Browser, on multiple devices, browser pop ups are NOT the issue.
Why he would post in the Avast Secure Browser, is the mystery as you have to find that sub-forum group.
However, there really is no detailed information to work with, despite two request for more information and no response, 19 and 18 days ago now. One from an Avast Team member, ‘Sandu-RM’.
I would say that is a missed opportunity.
I agree with you. IT is a missed opportunity.
The ads I speak of are buttons on the programs we own that take us on a path to purchase the product that deals with mentioned issue but instead of linking to the existing software on my computer it opens a purchase menu,
Anyone in possession of Avast software products doesn’t need a screen shot to know what it is I speak of. Anti Track for example has a notice along the bottom stating that some driver my be out of date and a button with it labelled RESOLVE. Click on that button and you are offered purchase options for Driver Updater.
There are many other examples in other products and they come is slightly different forms.
My suggestion to users is obvious: ignore the prompts.
My suggestion to Avast it to build in a short cut into the button to find if us users already have the prompted software and open it rather than piss us off by constantly trying to sell us something we already have or maybe do not desire. Why annoy ones customers or potential custumers for little benefit?
I can recall another topic related to the Icons over the various Functions - which would automatically make you thing something was wrong and click to find out what only to get a plug.
