I can’t update virus definitions. It is grayed out.
I tried once and was informed that i have the latest defs already. I have one popup open because it will give me repeated ones of the same if I hit OK. I also cannot close the program that the false pop up is for, obviously the popup has it “stuck” . I tried with task manager… nothing.
I have to reboot and hope that all is normal when I get back… this is a SHAME and AWFUL. I am busy here and don’t have time to play with Avast!
A shutdown and rest of 5 minutes and then boot up solved the issues.
The updated defs (the -2 version) did not stop the warning popups. I had to shutdown and boot up. Not a reboot - a rest.
Avast has got to test their virus def updates before releasing and causing mayhem for it’s millions users. That is just POOR execution!
I hope all have figured out how to resolve.
Do you have another antivirus software installed along with avast?
You should uninstall it and reinstall the latest version of avast
Can you tell me the name of the virus that you are infected?i am sure you are infected by a file infector.
