This is my first message here. I have searched the forum but didn’t find the answer to my question .
I am using avast! 4.5 Home Edition with MS Outlook 2002 on XP. I would like to get rid of the alerts that pop up when I receive an infected email and to have those messages erased automatically.
I have ticked the “discard unconditionnally” and “slient mode” options but it doesn’t appear to do anything.
Can you help me?

It depends on where you did the checking!
There are 3 places that you can check off “silent mode”.
One is in the Standard Shield module, another is in the Internet Mail module and the other is located in the Outlook/Exchange Mail module. If you do not want any of the messages to appear, then I would insure that they are all checked especially as it relates to Outlook. Yes, the Outlook/Exchange module is all you need, but checking the others makes sure you got “them all”.

Thank you, I had only checked in Outlook so I did the same in Internet Mail and it worked.
