Somehow I got the win32 trojan -gen virus onto my PC. I’m using avast! which wasn’t able to repair or remove infected file (C:/windows/start menu/programs/autostart/reboot.exe file is infected). It recommended to get it into quarantine. So I did. But the thing that happend afterwards is that I can’t run avast! at all now. There’s an error message: “ashsimple performed an incorrect operation and will be shut” which occures every time I try to run it.
Any idea how to work it out??
I’m using Win98, IE6, avast! keeping up-to-date,
please click on the link in my signature and follow the instructions in the malware removal section. Let us know if that solved the little problem or not.
Also do a repair of Avast.
islandgirl,
and what has that got to do with this thread? If you have a problem, please use the search option on this board. A lot of questions are already answered. Many even multiple times. If you want to know how to remove malware, do the same as I suggested to darekk1982 in this post. If that doesn’t solve the problem, please start a new thread in the virusses and worms section on this board.
