How to get Whitelisted?

Hi, we have an Outlook Plugin that Avast thinks is a virus. We have already filled out the very simple form on the Avast website to indicate that we are not a virus.

  1. How long does it take for Avast to approve this and correct this false positive?
  2. We have a digital cert from Symantec. Can we just send this to Avast for them to “approve” faster?
  3. Is there another/faster way to get Avast to approve us?

Many thanks, KT

As you’re a developer, read here…

Thanks. I did read through those 2 webpages.

However, I am still not certain:

  1. How long does it take for Avast to approve this and correct this false positive?
  2. We have a digital cert from Symantec. Can we just send this to Avast for them to “approve” faster?
  3. Is there another/faster way to get Avast to approve us?

Appreciate any insights you may have!

KT

You’re welcome. (Reread the FAQ, it’s all explained there…)

I did. I read the FAQs 5 times now. It still does not help me answer:

  1. How long does it take for Avast to approve this and correct this false positive?
  2. We have a digital cert from Symantec. Can we just send this to Avast for them to “approve” faster?
  3. Is there another/faster way to get Avast to approve us?

Can you help? Very frustrating.

You can report a suspected FP here: https://www.avast.com/false-positive-file-form.php

Hi - we have already done that and the problem is that we don’t get any updates on progress.

I am still looking for an answer to:

  1. How long does it take for Avast to approve this and correct this false positive?
  2. We have a digital cert from Symantec. Can we just send this to Avast for them to “approve” faster?
  3. Is there another/faster way to get Avast to approve us?

I am greatly disappointed in AVAST’s site. It looks/feels like a small startup. We had a very, very different experience with Symantec, FYI.

(even this Forum is open-sourced…)

Reported to Avast.
